Description

Used to obtain a whole blood or a plasma sample. BD Vacutainer™ Glass ACD Solution Tube with Yellow Closure contains the active anticoagulant Tri-sodium Citrate with Citric Acid and Dextrose. Two formulations of the ACD solution are available.

BD Vacutainer™ ACD tubes are available in glass only and are identifiable by a yellow cap (Hemogard™ or conventional). They contain the active anticoagulant Tri-sodium Citrate with Citric Acid and Dextrose in one of two formulations. The concentration of additives in each solution is as follows:
  • ACD Solution A (conventional closure)
    • Sodium citrate: 22.0g/L
    • Dextrose: 24.5g/L
    • Citric acid: 8.0g/L
    • Antimycotic (K sorbate) reagent: 0.15g/L
  • ACD Solution B (Hemogard™ closure)
    • Sodium citrate: 13.2g/L
    • Dextrose: 14.7g/L
    • Citric acid: 4.8g/L
    • Antimycotic (K sorbate) reagent: 0.2g/L
