Invitrogen™ Ulex Europaeus (Gorse) Agglutinin I (UEA I), fluorescein (FITC)
Description
UEA I interacts specifically with blood group H type 2 antigen, which is expressed in individuals with type O blood and to a lesser degree in individuals with type A or B blood. UEA I has been used to differentiate between angiosarcomas and epithelial tumors. However, blood group antigens are found in a variety of tissues, so better results may be obtained with the use of specific monoclonal antibodies. UEA I is also a marker for incompletely differentiated gastrin cells.
• Very bright FITC-conjugate detected with traditional FITC/GFP filter set, Ex/Em: 495/515 nm
• Applications: immunofluorescence, glycobiology
• Sugar specificity: fucose, arabinose
• Inhibiting/eluting sugar: 50–100 mM L-fucose
• Blood group specificity: O (H)
• Unconjugated lectin molecular weight: 63 KDa
• Immunofluorescence working concentration: 5–20 μg/mL
UEA I-FITC is provided at a 2 mg/mL concentration in 10 mM HEPES, 0.15 M NaCl, pH 7.5, 0.08% sodium azide, 0.1 mM Ca2+.
