Description
This Thermo Scientific brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific.
ApplicationsTolfenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. It interferes with synthesis of β-amyloid precursor protein, and thus Aβ peptides, by promoting degradation of an essential transcription factor. It inhibits fMLP- and A23187-induced Ca2+ influx in human PMNL with an IC50 value of approximately 20 µM.
Solubility
Soluble in water (slightly), acetone (∼10 mg/ml), DMSO (52 mg/ml at 25°C), methanol (∼10 mg/ml) and ethanol (50 mg/ml).
Notes
Stable under recommended storage conditions. Incompatible with oxidizing agents.
