Description

Changes color as desiccant adsorbs moisture. Silicagel Pearls with Orange Indicator, Chem-Lab are silicon dioxide beads that readily adsorb water and protect processes and products from the effects of humidity and moisture. Pearls are 2.5–5mm in size and are orange when in an anhydrous state.

Silica gel's high specific surface area allows it to adsorb water readily, making it useful as a desiccant (drying agent). In chemistry, silica gel is used in chromatography as a stationary phase. This product contains an orange indicator that changes color as maximum adsorbance is achieved, so that the gel can be replaced.
