It is also used as a building block for sensor elements. It is used as a catalyst and as a gas absorbent. It is also useful for the electrochemical detection of hydrogen peroxide and nitrite in microchannel. It is useful for the anodic oxidation of ammonia in aqueous potassium hydroxide electrolyte.
