Description

G418 Disulfate PhytoPure™ is an aminoglycoside related to gentamicin that acts as an antibiotic and is toxic to bacteria, yeast, higher plants, mammalian cells, protozoans and helminths.

  • G418 Disulfate blocks polypeptide synthesis in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and is useful for selection of genetically engineered eukarytoic cells in culture.
  • It is an effective selecting agent utilized in killing prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
  • It is also used for selection and maintenance of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells transfected with a iNOS promoter construct and neomycin resistance gene.
