Iridium(IV) iodide, Premion™, 99.95% (metals basis), Ir 27.0% min, Thermo Scientific Chemicals
Description
Methanol carbonylation to acetic acid is catalysed with high rates at low water concentrations using an iridium/iodide based catalyst. Iridium(IV)-iodide mixtures participates in the Investigations in platinum metal group electrochemistry. Rhodium- and iridium-iodide catalysts also promote the carbonylation of higher alcohols to linear or branched chain carboxylic acids.
