Description
Cyclopiazonic acid is a highly specific inhibitor of the Ca2+-ATPase of sarcoplasmic reticulum, completely inhibiting the enzyme at 6-8nmol/mg protein at the low concentration of 0.5-2μM. Cyclopiazonic acid on Langendorff-perfused murine hearts displays anti-arrhythmic effects. Also, administration on rat soleus muscle showed a decrease in hormone-sensitive lipase activity and triacylglycerol hydrolysis.
