• Cefazolin sodium is a beta-lactam antibiotic of the cephalosporin family

Applications

• Cefazolin binds and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBP) and interferes with peptidoglycan chain crosslinking

• PBP inactivation leads to destruction of the cell wall and lysis

• Cefazolin exhibits broad spectrum activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria
