Description

Often grouped with aminoglycosides. Capreomycin Sulfate, MP Biomedicals is a cyclic peptide antibiotic. This second line antibiotic binds across the ribosomal interface involving 23S rRNA helix 69 (H69) and 16S rRNA helix 44 (h44).

Capreomycin is used to study multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. It is also used to study bacterial ribosomal subunit interactions and translocation processes during protein synthesis.
