Acetic Acid Solution, 0.1M, Chem-Lab
Description
Acetic acid is a clear, colorless solution with a strong sour odor. It is the second simplest carboxylic acid (after formic acid) and consists of two small functional groups, an acetyl group and a hydroxyl group. Undiluted, it is referred to as “glacial” acetic acid.
Acetic acid is an important chemical reagent and industrial chemical for the production of chemical compounds. It is used in the production of photographic film, adhesives, paints, and synthetic fibers and fabrics. It is a primary component in the production of vinyl acetate monomer, as well as acetic anhydride and ester production. The volume of acetic acid used in vinegar is comparatively small.
